Stefano MerlinAs a co-founder of the Instituto Ecologica – an internationally-recognized Brazilian NGO in the climate change space – and co-creator of the Social Carbon Methodology, Stefano’s expertise in environmental science and sustainable development is the core of Sustainable Carbon’s identity. Before becoming the acting CEO at the company, Stefano consulted for the United Nations Program (UNDP) for strategic development and implementation of Renewable Energies in Brazil working for the PRODEEM program at the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy. Stefano holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Foscari and a Masters in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. |

Brennan Duty (USA), Commercial CoordinatorOriginally from the United States, Brennan graduated with a B.A. in World Business Economy from the Ohio State University. Before joining Sustainable Carbon, he worked both in the U.S. and abroad. Highlights from his experience include being the Program Manager for a nationally-recognized NGO in Argentina that helps young entrepreneurs develop sustainable businesses, as well as acting as the Project Consultant at a political lobbying firm in the United States. Today, he is the Commercial Coordinator and is responsible for all sales and marketing activities at Sustainable Carbon. |

Cinthia Caetano Carvalho (Brazil), Legal CoordinatorCinthia holds a Juris Doctor from the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie with emphasis on Contracts, Business and Corporate Law. Before teaming up with Sustainable Carbon, she worked at Copebras Ltd, a large player in the agricultural products industry, and as a legal adviser at the law firm Advocacia Pietro Ariboni. The great combination of her excellent education and diverse work experiences make her the right person for the position as legal coordinator at Sustainable Carbon. |

Simone Carvalho (Brazil), Administrative CoordinatorBefore joining Sustainable Carbon, Simone worked at the Instituto Ecologica, where she amassed a significant amount of experience in project planning and financial reporting. She also was able to study the intricacies of international carbon trading. Her vast know-how in accounting tax legislation as well as human resource issues make her the perfect fit for the position as Administrative Coordinator. Simone graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Portuguese from the Lutheran University of Brazil in Tocantins and in currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil. |

Marcelo Haddad (Brazil), Technical CoordinatorAfter his graduation from Sao Paulo State University in Environmental Engineering, Marcelo gained experience on climate change carbon sequestration projects and sustainable development. This knowledge has been an invaluable asset to Sustainable Carbon, as he is part of Sustainable Carbon since the very beginning. Today he holds the position of Technical Coordinator and is responsible for feasibility studies and the evaluation of new project opportunities, especially in the forestry sector. |

Thiago Othero (Brazil), Technical CoordinatorThiago brings to Sustainable Carbon a vast amount of knowledge regarding CDM project development. Since 2010, he has been responsible for developing voluntary GHG emission reductions projects according to both VCS and Gold Standard methodologies. His responsibilities include conducting technical and financial feasibility studies to procure new business opportunities. He also assists in the elaboration of corporate GHG inventories. Thiago graduated from the Lutheran University of Brazil with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. |
